I just got off the phone with daddy.  He’s not a crying man, but I could hear the tears in his voice today.

He told me that you had been very clingy to him today, when usually you are content to run around and just play with anyone at the guesthouse.  He told me that you didn’t want to get off his lap or go too far away from him.

Somehow you know that your life is about to change…again.  I am quite sure that you don’t have a clue as to HOW your life is about to change, but you KNOW that your daddy is about to have to leave you.

He watched you jump out of the car at the babies home, excited to see all your friends.  He saw you climb up in the laps of the sweet Aunties that love you so much.  He said that he could tell that this time was different than any other time we’ve taken you, though.

They put you in your seat to eat dinner and all the kids began to sing their prayer to Jesus.  Josh said you just sat there just looking around wondering why in the world you were sitting there with them, instead of with the family that we had promised you.  It was at that moment that Josh had to leave.  He couldn’t watch anymore.

Baby, your daddy is heartbroken today.  We are all having a hard day as we leave you behind, not knowing when we will see you again.  I can’t tell you how much we all love you and are praying for you.  Praying for your heart to be guarded and protected during this confusing time.  I pray you can forget all the hurt you might be feeling, or how scared and confused you may be in all of this.

Your Daddy took this picture of you right before he packed you up into the car to take you back to the babies home.  The verse that immediately flooded my heart was a verse that many friends have reminded me of throughout this journey.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.”  Proverbs 31:25

I am going to pray this for our WHOLE family as we continue to wait to bring you home.

Missing you so much,
